HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
From a humble start working out of their home in the 90s, the team behind Heliopolis dreamed of grand, magical creations like no other. Recognising a lack of quality and exclusive costume jewellery at affordable prices in the local retail scene then, Heliopolis fashioned sparkling showpieces for fashion stylists and editors to feature in their magazines. Just as their work was being recognized in the industry, they managed to find a small commercial space to work from.

Thanks to wide editorial exposure in Her World Brides, Heliopolis started customising beautiful accessories for brides. In time, more women looking for bespoke pieces that were unique and glamorous started to order special designs and snapping up their one-off creations. The team began to market their collection to major departmental stores and Galeries Lafayette, as well as C K Tangs, offered the brand exclusive counters to showcase their wares. For the stores, Heliopolis created a more wearable and affordable range which was glitzy but with a touch of wit and humor. These items were also a hit with fashion insiders and were featured extensively in top local and overseas fashion publications.

MAKING THEIR MARK
Even with the arrival of new local jewellery brands in the 90s, Heliopolis stood out with their fantastical designs and show-stopping styles that were painstakingly hand-crafted. Till today, every single creation from Heliopolis is designed and produced in-house without any work farmed out to external craftsmen, thanks to early investments in machinery and plating facilities.

With experience gleaned from their rocky start and many years in the fashion industry both locally and overseas, Heliopolis has finally managed to find their niche and a loyal customer base. Their expansion into Jakarta proved to be far-sighted as in time, Indonesia proved to be one of their biggest markets.

STYLE EVOLUTION
With a loyal team of workers and after many years of mastering their craft, Heliopolis has created collections that have evolved with the time. Starting with classic and whimsical designs, the brand now creates some of the most intricate and extravagant jewellery, tiaras and minauderes that are truly one-of-a-kind, some of them taking up to a month of man-hours to finish.

GOING INTERNATIONAL
With an eye on quality, the finest materials as well as refined workmanship, Heliopolis now showcasing their collections at international fairs with orders from international departmental stores and boutiques. The collections are now sold in Harvey Nichols (Hong Kong and Kuwait), Galeries Lafayette (Jakarta) and exclusive multi-label stores (Hong Kong, Jakarta, Singapore, USA, Canada, Lebanon, Taiwan). Bespoke services are now available only in Jakarta.
